Alexis stands firm in her beliefs and values, despite the notion that we all beat to the tune of one drum. Everyone’s drum is different; we just coexist. She lives in HER truth, the good, the bad, and the ugly, but above all, she wants to extend the greatest healer of them all: LOVE - give love and be open to receive love. SHE IS LOVE, the highest form of vibration. Becoming the woman she is took a lot of self-love, and she means a LOT of it. She is the married and divorced young woman, a single mother struggling daily with mental health (anxiety and depression). She is the one who wanted to give up on this beautiful gift called life. Alexis is the woman who walked around with a dark cloud over her head, full of sadness, anger, and hurt, trying to see and love HERSELF while surrounded by abuse - mentally, physically, and emotionally. With every reason to be distressed and angry, still, she smiled. A smile so bright you can’t help but look at her and see happiness, but in reality, filled with pain.

What is it they say, “Fake it until you make it?” Guess what? She made it! Rock bottom can be a great foundation to rebuild. She took herself back and realized life is just a moment with experiences. There is no progress in dwelling on what went “wrong.” Control what is within your limits. Let go of what is not. There is no “destination” in life. We are already here in this moment, in the present, in this life; live it!

When we take life for granted, it never gives us the bearing of fruit from our planted seeds. Within that realization, this smile became realized. This internal peace is real. The woman she sees in the mirror daily is real. She is so STRONG. Alexis is happy to be a part of the I.Em.U. Foundation to help others like her who struggle with feeling like the only way through it is out, but I see beauty in all things, especially the life we have.
